Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. 8 Let them thank the LORD for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of man! 9 For he satisfies the longing soul, and the hungry soul he fills with good things. " (Psalm 107:1, 8-9, ESV).
What a day to celebrate! While Christmas brings wish lists and the New
Year brings resolutions, Thanksgiving invites us to something even better—a
chance to stop and shout about all the incredible blessings God has poured into
our lives!
I love this humorous gratitude list I found from several housewives.
They said they were thankful for automatic dishwashers (so they could escape
the kitchen before the family came back for snacks!), for husbands who tackle
repair jobs (and make them big enough to finally call the pros), and for smoke
alarms (the real turkey timer!). Their humor reminds us that even life's little
quirks can spark gratitude!
But friends, when we really start counting our blessings, the list
explodes! Life! Health! Family! Friends! Our amazing church family! This
beautiful, complex country we get to call home! The list just keeps growing!
And here's where my heart absolutely overflows: I get to
celebrate salvation—the incredible, undeserved, life-transforming grace of
Jesus Christ! I get to rejoice with this church family that laughs, cries, and
grows together! I get to wake up every single morning to fresh mercy from our
God who never stops loving us!
So what are we celebrating today?
Celebrate God's magnificent character—His goodness that never
fails, His love that never quits, His faithfulness in every season, His mighty
power that holds everything together!
Celebrate His amazing presence—He's here with us, right now, in
our joys and our struggles, our victories and our valleys!
Celebrate His generous provision, the feast before us, the people
around us, and every blessing we often take for granted!
And celebrate His greatest gift of all: salvation through Jesus!
This is the blessing that changes everything, the grace that turns ordinary
days into reasons for joy!
Yes, every day should be Thanksgiving Day! And you know what? With
Jesus, every day CAN be! So today, let's get it right—let's raise our voices,
lift our hearts, and thank the One who satisfies our deepest hunger and
quenches our greatest thirst!
Happy Thanksgiving, beloved! May God's joy overflow in your heart today
and every day!
